Jennifer Aniston plans to open own restaurant

Marley and Me star Jennifer Aniston is reportedly set to open her own restaurant, and is developing plans for one.

Aniston, 40, is also reported to be testing her culinary skills on her friends, before she commits to following in the footsteps of famous restaurateurs, including Eva Longoria-Parker, Ashton Kutcher and Robert De Niro.

"Jennifer is really passionate about cooking. She recently had a new kitchen fitted and she loves it. She can cook anything from Mexican meals to Italian food to cakes," Contactmusic quoted a source as having told Limelife.com.

"She does use cookbooks but mainly they are her own recipes. Everyone says she should open her own restaurant and she said she would love to," the source added.

Rajashree Birla enlists John Abraham for an ambitious project

Active philanthropist Rajashree Birla and actor John Abraham who have teamed up to work towards providing homes for the needy -- only this one will concentrate on South East Asian countries like Thailand, Laos, Southern China, Cambodia and Vietnam.

"Everybody is equal and every country has poverty. So we are just trying to reach out to as many people as possible and provide homes to the really poor in the Mekong region. John Abraham has been very interested in working with us for this cause," said Rajashree, who is the co-chairperson of Habitat for Humanity Advisory and a member of Habitat's Global Capital Campaign.

But it's not as if the poor in India aren't beneficaries -- Rajashree clarifies that Habitat has tied up with several other NGO's in the country to provide homes.

"Recently we had an association with an NGO in Gujarat to build around 1000 houses there. We have also teamed with ASK for a joint project -- so we are partnering with many like-minded groups," she says.

Meanwhile, John Abraham who'd been named the brand ambassador for Habitat for Humanity (India) in 2006, is delighted that he's now been conferred the title of 'Habitat Hero' this year.

"I'm delighted and feel priviliged to be working with this body. The need for this country is homes and I'm happy that I'm with them. I can never forget the face of an old lady who walked up to me and just said 'thank you' with a smile. I'm excited that this project also targets the youth," John told DNA.

So is looking to take along lady love Bipasha Basu when he travels to South East Asia to build homes? "Everyone is welcome to partner in the cause -- and yes, I'll be very happy if Bipasha comes with me."

Carmen comes up trumps at Bikini Olympics

American glamour model/actress Carmen Electra has come out tops at the models versus actresses Bikini Olympics. According to Radar Online.com,three experts passed the ratings on six of the top beauties in each glam group, with all the contestants wearing bikinis.

The experts consulted were Dr Anthony Youn, a plastic surgeon from Michigan and a regular commentator on E! Entertainment Network; DrEdward Jackowski, author of the best-selling book, Escape Your Shape and CEO of fitness and nutrition company Exude and Bob Esquerre, a top fitness trainer and CEO of Esquerre Fitness Group.

The judges graded them on sex appeal, body proportion and tone, and Electra, who wore a white bikini and looked really great, won hands down.

"She's one of the hottest women in Hollywood," Fox News quoted Dr Youn as saying about her. Dr Jackowski was equally appreciative, noting: "Carmen's strong, yet feminine look is very alluring and extremely sexy." Esquerre also put her in first place, and pointed out: "Every curve, every nuance of her body and posture oozes sex appeal."

The two other ladies, who made the top of the list, were Bar Refaeli and Anna Faris.

Anil Kapoor's film takes a dig at Govinda

Anil Kapoor's forthcoming film Shortkut: The Con is On is apparently taking a dig at actor Govinda who has been reported many times for throwing bizarre fits on the sets, for making people wait as he saunters in late and also for wearing loud clothes. Anil's production has a character which is being essayed by Arshad Warsi that is supposedly a total carbon copy of Govinda.

A source from the film says, "When you think of Govinda, you think of comedy but his image has been tarnished as Govinda has been projected as someone who producers are cautious about. They think of him for coming late, wearing loud clothes and loads and loads of attitude. Rumours are doing the rounds that Arshad is doing a Govinda in the film."

The insider adds, "Arshad has modelled his character of Raju on the actor Govinda. In the film, Raju plays a loud-mouthed actor who has no dress sense. The production company, however, doesn't want to promote the film saying that they are imitating Govinda and has strictly requested everyone not to leak this information so as to avoid any controversy as Govinda might get upset."

While production company officials remained unavailable for comment, Arshad confirmed that he is playing a loud character. "I play a sleazy character wanting to become a superstar but he has a very bad dressing sense -- the styling is very loud with gaudy colours."

Jackson fans flood website handing out memorial tickets

Nearly half a billion Michael Jackson fans flooded the website handing out tickets for the King of Pop's funeral at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Fans were told to register on www.staplescenter.com to enter the draw for 17,500 free tickets to grab a chance to attend the two-hour funeral on July 7.

Devotees swarmed the site within hours of the shock draw news, leaving the website crashing a few times.

More than 8,000 fans will learn if they have been lucky enough to land a pair of tickets on July 5, after the registration closes on July 4.

"It is the family's wish to create a service and a celebration that all of Michael's fans around the world can be part of," The Sun quoted Staples Center boss Tim Leiweke as saying.

Meanwhile, preparations were being made for the expected massive turnout outside the Staples Center for the ceremony, which will be broadcast live globally.

Jackson died aged 50 on June 25 at his Los Angeles home from an apparent cardiac arrest, which was believed to have stemmed from an overdose of prescription drugs.

John's yellow trunk act in Dostana apparently still has women drooling. Out of 1,000 women polled, 55% thought John's tushy was the best. Ranbir Kapoor came a distant second with only 17%. Hrithik Roshan, often referred to as a Greek God, got 13%, Saif Ali Khan got 7% and Akshay Kumar got 6%. Salman Khan got the least votes with just 2% voting for him. Maybe he should start dropping his pants now, instead of his shirt, what say?

The competition among the women was tougher, but Malaika won comprehensively in the end. Out of the 1,000 men we polled, 25% felt she had the best butt in B-Town. Shilpa Shetty came a close second with 23%, while Lara Dutta and Bipasha Basu were tied at 19% each. Like her beau, Katrina Kaif also found herself almost at the bottom of the table with just 12.5% votes. Deepika Padukone hardly had any takers with only 1.5% voting for her.

Malaika was pleasantly surprised. "Wow! What can I say? Thank you for voting for me 'butt naturally'."As for who she thinks could be worthy contenders for our 'butt-iful' title, she had two choices, "Jennifer Lopez and Kylie Minogue".

Madonna puts Jesus on macrobiotic diet

After converting new love interest, Jesus, to her religion of Kaballah, Madonna has now put him on a macrobiotic diet.

The 'Queen of Pop' who is an ardent follower of the religious diet herself has convinced Luz to do the same, reported DailyMail online.

The 50-year-old singer is insisting that the 22-year-old Brazilian model follows her regimen, which means that he has to give up desserts, dairy products and all processed food.

"It's very important for Madonna that anyone close to her does two things, follow her religion and her diet,' a source close to the singer told the newspaper.

"Jesus now has to eat organic salads, brown rice and fish."

So what does the 'Queen of Pop' do when she craves something sweet?

"Occasionally she indulges in a slice of wheat-free wholegrain toast with sugar-free strawberry jam," said the source.

Jade Goody 'has just hours left'

The reality star Jade Goody, who is battling cervical cancer, reportedly has just hours left to live after her condition got "dramatically worse" overnight.

The condition of the former Big Brother star worsened on Saturday and is unlikely to live past the weekend, the News of the World reported

"She has deteriorated. She is very weak. The answer is, who knows? We are on the edge of a precipice,"Goody's spokesman Max Clifford said.

The 27-year-old star is with friends and family her home in Upshire, Essex after she left London's Royal Marsden Hospital on Mar 11.

"One of the problems is she's terrified of falling asleep because she's afraid she'll never wake up. That means she completely exhausts herself. It was terrible," a source said.

"She's been crying her eyes out, she's been in floods of tears because she too realises it's nearly the end of the road," a source added.

"The family were told maybe Jade would make it to Tuesday but after such a bad night that's been revised to Monday and maybe sooner," the source said.

Meanwhile, Goody has already planned her funeral, insisting it should be a celebration of her life.

She wants a traditional burial and a service will be held at a church near her home.
